1. Measurement principle
The online residual chlorine analyzer employs a three-electrode amperometry method. This method utilizes current changes caused by chemical reactions on the electrodes to measure residual chlorine concentration in water samples, with the generated current being proportional to the residual chlorine concentration.
The three-electrode amperometry measurement system consists of a anode, a reference electrode, and an auxiliary electrode (or counter electrode). During the measurement process, hypochlorous acid (HOCl) selectively permeates through the microporous membrane of the electrode cap into the electrode interior, where it undergoes an electrochemical reaction with the metal electrode to generate a current signal. Under stable conditions, this current signal is directly proportional to the residual chlorine concentration in water.
2. Application
• Drinking water monitoring;
• Sewage monitoring;
3. The electrode use process
Note:
• Immerse electrodes in water before power activation. Ensure the stainless steel ring remains fully submerged below the water surface. This ring serves as the counter electrode in the three-electrode system. Failure to maintain aqueous contact will not only disrupt the electrochemical circuit but also cause irreversible damage to the internal reference electrode when energized.
• Flow meters (or alternative control devices) and 90-degree bends are important auxiliary equipment used to maintain stable flow rates. The flow meter may be installed at the water inlet, When the reading is unstable, please first check whether the flow rate of the circulation pool is stable.
• Minor bubble adhesion on the membrane cap in the water is permissible, but the central orifice must remain bubble-free. The electrode with an outer diameter of 25.4 mm (1"), the distance between the front end of the electrode and the pool base should be maintained at around 25 mm after installation.
2. Integrated temperature sensor for real-time thermal compensation;
3. RS485 signal output with strong anti-interference capability (transmission range ≤500m);
4. Open-source communication protocol for device integration and networkin;
5. Easy operation,supports software online upgrade;
