1. Introduction
The Rainfall Monitoring Station is a smart precipitation monitoring device designed for real-time measurement and analysis of rainfall.
Built with a dual tipping bucket mechanism, it accurately records minute-by-minute, hourly, and daily rainfall data. Users can set customized rainfall thresholds, and the system automatically triggers an alarm when the recorded rainfall exceeds the preset value.
All data are transmitted via wireless communication to a remote monitoring platform, where rainfall information and device parameters are analyzed to determine current conditions and alarm status.
The system supports 4G or NB-IoT communication and operates on solar power, offering advantages such as easy installation, high measurement precision, real-time data transmission, and stable long-term performance in outdoor environments.
2. Function
• Rainfall Data Collection
The device measures 1-minute, 1-hour, and 24-hour rainfall with high accuracy.
Data collection and upload intervals are configurable (minimum collection interval: 20 seconds, minimum upload interval: 1 minute) to suit different monitoring needs.
• Power Supply Monitoring
In addition to rainfall parameters, the system monitors solar power status, including charge/discharge voltage, current, and battery capacity, ensuring stable energy supply and continuous operation.
• Data Alarm and Reporting
When rainfall exceeds the preset threshold during a collection period, the alarm is automatically activated. The device then transmits both rainfall and power parameters to the monitoring platform for immediate analysis and alert generation.
• Remote Configuration and Maintenance
The system supports remote parameter configuration and firmware upgrades, enabling users to adjust collection intervals, thresholds, and communication settings through a central management platform.
Its user-friendly design ensures simple operation and minimal maintenance.
3. Installation instructions
• Routine Maintenance:
Conduct monthly inspections to ensure stable operation. Adjust the maintenance schedule according to environmental and operational conditions.
• Electromagnetic Interference (EMI):
When installing near high-power radar or wireless transmitters, perform an on-site EMI assessment. Implement protective measures if interference is detected.
• Installation Location:
Avoid placement near trees, poles, or tall buildings that may obstruct airflow or cause turbulence, as this can affect rainfall measurement accuracy.
• Open Area Requirement:
Select a clear, unobstructed installation site where the distance between the device and nearby objects is at least 10 times the height of the obstruction, ensuring precise and reliable rainfall data collection.
