1. Introduction
• The Manhole Cover Status Monitoring Sensor is a smart IoT device designed for real-time detection and alarm of manhole cover movement or liquid overflow. Installed on the underside of the cover, it continuously monitors operational status and automatically triggers an alarm when abnormal displacement, vibration, or overflow conditions are detected.
• The device transmits manhole cover status and operating parameters to a centralized monitoring platform via NB-IoT or 4G wireless communication. The monitoring center receives, analyzes, and archives the data, providing comprehensive insights for maintenance and safety management.
• Powered by a high-capacity lithium battery, the device features ultra-low power consumption, long battery life, high detection accuracy, and stable performance, making it ideal for deployment in harsh urban environments and drainage systems.
• Real-Time Monitoring and Alerts
The device provides instant detection of manhole cover status changes, including tilt, displacement, opening, and overflow events. When abnormal conditions occur, the sensor transmits alarm signals to the management platform. It also monitors battery voltage in real time and issues low-power alerts, ensuring reliable, continuous operation.
• Scheduled Status Reporting
Even in the absence of alarm events, the sensor automatically uploads daily status reports containing parameters such as battery voltage and cover state, allowing maintenance teams to assess device health and system reliability at any time.
• Intelligent Alarm Filtering
Equipped with a multi-level alarm filtering algorithm, the device distinguishes between genuine alarm events and false triggers caused by transient vibrations, vehicle movement, or external impact. This not only improves detection accuracy but also effectively reduces unnecessary power consumption.
• Remote Parameter Configuration
Through the remote management platform, users can adjust device parameters, including reporting intervals, sensitivity levels, and alarm thresholds. This function enables efficient maintenance and reduces the need for manual on-site adjustments.
3. Installation Instructions
• Determine Installation Position
Identify the optimal location on the underside of the manhole cover. Mark the screw hole positions where the monitoring sensor will be fixed.
• Surface Preparation
Clean the installation area using a manual grinder to remove rust, paint, or debris. Smooth the surface with fine sandpaper to ensure firm adhesion and stable mechanical connection between the sensor base and the manhole cover.
• Apply Thread-Locking Adhesive
Before installation, apply thread-locking adhesive to the screw threads. This prevents loosening caused by long-term vibration or traffic impact, ensuring that the device remains securely mounted and fully operational.
